Yeap! 2 days after this T-shirt arrived, and 2 days after i posted this photos on my fb, i was in the delivery room, but not for delivering (thank you lord ), nor having early contraction, nor any pregnancy related issue, rather, a case of tummy bug- aka, mild food poisoning! ( thank you Mr.Subway, eat fresh my ass! ). Anyway, after 4 vomits, 17 diarrhea, 1 day of heartburn, 4 batches of IV drips, and 1 night stay in the hospital, i have a lot of blessing to count.
Firstly, I felt the baby move since last Wednesday, at 4am, and i was 19 weeks plus plus.
It was a very very strange, but wonderful feeling. Nothing like butterfly to me ( all the books say so ), but to me, it felt like a big fat worm moving underneath my tummy. It was very subtle at first, and then i prayed for a really obvious movement so i can be sure it's the baby movement instead of fart of something, and miraculously, I felt it. Very obvious and very strong one. I remember staying awake at 4am, caressing my tummy, talk to the baby...it was a blissful moment.
Secondly, I think I have the BEST Obstetrician, and nurses are not bitches.
I was very bloated on the Thursday night, and i woke up on Friday feeling really unwell. Vomiting and diarrhea followed and almost immediately, I've experience the worst heartburn and abdominal pain. And the abdominal pain makes me really worry, so i called up my OB office. He was not in!! I panicked a little, and then I called up the hospital that i was gonna deliver in Dec, Hurstville Private. I told the nurse that i was one of Philips's patients, and explain my situation and the nurse was very reassuring. She assured me that tummy bug will not affect the baby at all, and that all my pain, was bowel pain, not contraction. But i was really worried because my vomiting and diarrhea continued and i can't seems to hold down any fluid. So, she ask me to come in. Hurstville Private is only 5 mins from my house, very convenient for me, but it's a very small, boutique hospital, and they do not have emergency services. So, they put me in a delivery room! It's not as scary like those in the movies actually. It's a very big room, with a big bed in the middle, sofa in the corner, a big toilet, a baby bassinet, big flat screen TV and a big clock. Anyway, the nurse was quick to perform a Doppler for me, and re-assure me again and again that the baby is not affected in anyway. Baby heartbeat is 140, strong and deep. very healthy baby. But I'm worried by nature, and shortly after that, i was surprise to see my OB came and visit. He came in, sit by the bed and reassure me again that the baby is fine, abdominal pain is due to bowel movement and all shall be well after 24 hours. He wanted to admit me, and wanted me to have continuous IV drips until my diarrhea stop. He want me to relax, and enjoyed the hospital stay!! No medication unless my situation worsen. He also ordered for my "lentil stew" to be collected and sent to the lab for both Friday and Saturday. And then he left. All together, there were 5 nurses that looked after me, and they were all very friendly, very caring and very patient. I was admit at 11am on Friday, and i pretty much produce a "lentil stew" once or twice every hour, and then i got a bit better so they transfer me to the ward upstairs. I got a room by myself, and watch a lame movie by Sandra bullock. Before i went to sleep, the nurse came in again to check my blood pressure, and baby heart beat, still the same 140 bpm. Which is good, cos it means the baby was completely oblivious of what's going on with mommy. Poor thing, must be wondering inside why there's no pizza today!! Hehe.
Another nurse did another Doppler for me when i wake up the next day, again, it was 140bpm, and my abdominal pain were no more. I was very happy although i still produce lentil stew. My OB came and see me again very early on the Saturday, I must be his only patient there cos it's his off day, and he was not in his working attire. But it was so kind for him to pop in and say Hi, and personally discharged me. Just before i went home, the nurse did another Doppler for me just to give me a peace of mind. I'm very grateful for all the nurses. growing up in Malaysia, i'm used to patients being scold by nurses, aka "mee C ", but all my nurses are so kind and so caring. A big thank you to the staff at Hurstville Private. But that said, i really dun want to see you'll again until December time. thank you very much.
Last but not least, I was due for my 20 weeks morphology scan.
The timing of my tummy bug came just before the scan, which is a really good thing because any worry or concern i have, would be answered by this detail scan of the baby. Normally this scan will marked the beginning of honeymoon period of pregnancy, as all the organs and physical features of the baby will be checked in detail. It took 40 mins and the sonographer took 72 pictures of bub, and also 5 4D ultrasound to show the face/profile of the bub. A report will be sent to my OB which we're going to see next week, but the sonographer told us everything looks good. Praise the Lord.
I've select a few funny ones to share:
The baby flexes his toes, how cute!
1o little toes, perfect
we tried for sometime to get a nice clear face with the 4D ultrasound, but my baby got personality. At such a young age, he knows how to face "paparazzi", yeah, by covering up!! Good one bud! a little bit fat can be seen on his arm too. he now weigh an estimate of 327g. very good sized for a 20weeks old.
and finally, a glimpse of bub's feature, cute little nose, and 5 little fingers.
The Lord is good, He bless me with wonderful men in my life.
yes, I've a sweet little man twisting and turning like a worm inside.
Thank you lord.

boy boy very handsome...
wow, ur OB and the nurses are really nice. that's the most impt thing in the delivery room. u dun care if there's TV or not. U just want professional and caring nurses. I m blessed that I have very good and nice nurses too during my 2 deliveries. Cos in here, the Gynae only comes in the minute u are going to deliver (provided u have no pre-complications), so alot of time u really depend on the nurses.
So, u are having a little boy? Congrats! Boys are cute! Enjoy those little kicks too..
Yes boy boy boy!!! Testosterone all around. Next time my house will be full of ball ball ball!!!
